QUALITY, HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Panamericana Vial S.A. Panavial manages in an effective and efficient way the concessioned sections of the Pan-American Highway from Rumichaca to Riobamba in Ecuador, in order to comply with the requirements in the contracts with the granting authority, maintaining the roads according to technical norms and safety standards thanks to competent professionals and continuously improving the service and the processes through the proactive management of risks, opportunities and environment protection.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGEMENT
For the company, risk management is a priority, for this reason, efforts are focused on safeguarding the welfare, physical and mental integrity of all employees, contractors and visitors, through the development of a preventive and participatory culture, as well as the identification, evaluation and control of hazards and risks of operations. The controls applied comply with the technical, national and international legal requirements, in addition to the guidelines of Safety and Health Management System at Work, under the ISO 45001:2018 STANDARD.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT
Quality Management System guidelines under the ISO 9001:2015 STANDARD, allows the company to improve its capacity to meet the requirements of its clients, legal regulations and other obligations applicable to the organization. This is achieved through a process-based approach, proactive management of all risks, context analysis and needs of all stakeholders.
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
It is a priority to contribute to global sustainability, by minimizing and controlling the environmental aspects and impacts related to the life cycle of each project, in an active and systematic way.
The organization’s Environmental Management System, under the ISO 14001:2015 STANDARD, focuses its efforts on actions aimed at the climate change prevention, energy efficiency, responsible use of natural resources, reduction and management of waste based on the principles of the circular economy, pollution prevention and ecosystems protection through reforestation and recovery programs for affected areas.
- Reforestation Campaigns
Campaigns have been developed in ecological reserves, with the participation of the organization’s employees and their families, carrying out programs with native species, recovery of ravines, flora and fauna protection among others.
- Waste Management and Recycling Campaign
We are working on creating the conditions to promote a culture of reduction, reuse and recycling of the waste generated, both at work and at home.
- Environmental Awareness with the community
There is a commitment to the efficient management of natural resources and sustainable management of them, so it undertakes its initiative “Buenas Practices Ambientales”, giving talks to the community in the sectors directly involved, addressing issues such as responsible use of essential sources, awareness of the environment to conserve it, among others.
SURVEILLANCE, PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF COVID-19 AT WORK
The COVID-19 pandemic has been one of the most challenging challenges for the company; despite this, with the objective of contributing to the integral development of the countries where it operates and at the same time protecting its employees and their families health, it works responsibly and meticulously in the application of COVID-19 surveillance, prevention and control protocols in the organization’s activities.
These protocols comply with national legal requirements, the recommendations of the World Health Organization and the scientific community. For this purpose, we have highly competent and committed professionals in the area of prevention and health.
Efforts have been focused on training and actions to raise awareness among direct employees, contractors and their family environment. This is done through Health Education, Health Promotion and the application of Epidemiological Surveillance Systems.
